Q: Could you take pictures on our Wedding Day of the bride/groom getting ready beforehand? A: Absolutely! We are willing to be available for any times you may require us for. Whether it is the bride/groom getting ready and the ceremony, or it is the full entire day from bride/groom getting ready until the last moment of the reception. We’ll be there!
Q: What separates you from other event and wedding photographers? A: 1. Marianne and Alex are both experienced in photography and film and digital processing. We both have years of experience being employed by a major photofinishing corporation and have had extensive training and exposure to the prints and different qualities and techniques provided by our own and other company photofinishing labs. We know what looks good, and what doesn’t, through experience of our own, and the hundreds of prints we have seen week after week. We also have an understanding of standard print sizes, frames and albums. We know that other photographers may shoot with medium format and provide you with 4x5 prints, 6x8s or 10x13s just to name a few. These are not common print sizes and we understand that when people are given these sizes, they end up having to spend more money on costly custom framing or frustrating reprint methods. Our method is simple, we provide you with common sizes that allow you to simply and easily get the prints you want and find the correct frames and albums to easily display them in. 2. MAAD Photography also believes in giving you good value for your money. With all of our wedding packages we not only give you, two photographers, and all of your images on CD/DVD, but we will ensure that every image has a copy in colour, black and white, AND sepia. (Sepia is that older brownish tone) We also provide at no extra cost, a large number of table cards for your reception. We like to call 'em "Online Photo Invitation Cards". 3. Lastly, we provide a complete service and we take our business very seriously. We don't work on this part-time and we are not "weekend warriors". This is not a fall-back job. This is about helping you in capturing you in the best possible light and in the most of creative and beautiful ways. We are laid-back easy-going, not pushy and enjoy making the day fun! MAAD Photography will be there for you every step of the way from beginning to end, and well into the events of your future. A: You can do this one of two ways. By phone, you may call us at 613.433.5744 to arrange a meeting with either Marianne or Alex. Online, you may click here and e-mail us about the wedding or event you wish to have photographed. We will get back to you usually within a few hours. Once we meet with you, we'll discuss your photography needs and show you samples of our work. Should you decide then and there you wish to hire us, we will present our contract and review it with you. (If you want to take some time to think about it, of course that's okay too!) We charge a retainer of $500 to hold your day for our services. Once the retainer has been paid and the contract has been signed by you and MAAD Photography, your date will be reserved. The remainder of the balance is to be received by MAAD Photography no later than 30 days before the wedding date. If you hire us for a wedding, we can usually get your prints and all to you within 2 - 4 weeks following the day of your event or Wedding.
Q: How far in advance do you book dates? A: It is suggested that you book us 6 months to a year in advance. However, should the date be available, we will book as soon as 1 month in advance. If you do book us with 30 or less days remaining before your wedding, full payment will be required at the time of contact signing. We are currently accepting bookings for 2011, and beyond.
Q: Do you require a retainer fee to hold my day? A: Yes we do ask you to pay a retainer fee at the time of the contract signing. This ensures that we are available for your event and that no one else can supersede it.
Q: What are your payment terms? A: A $500 retainer is due at the time of booking. This is a non-refundable retainer to hold your date. The remainder balance is to be received by MAAD Photography no later than 30 days before the wedding day. The acceptable payment methods are by Visa, Mastercard, (through our online secure site), cash, personal cheque, or money order written out to MAAD Photography. Of course, H.S.T. applies to all orders.
A: Yes. In accordance with Ontario Provincial Law and Canadian Federal Law, we charge 13% Harmonized Sales Tax on all sales.
Q: Are there any hidden charges? A: Absolutely not! At the time of booking your contract with us will indicate all the products you have requested and your final total will be clearly indicated.
Q: Who will be the photographer covering our wedding? A: Both Marianne and Alex will be covering your wedding day. We always give you two photographers, and usually you'll meet us before your wedding takes place. Other companies may send someone you've never contacted to photograph your special day, with us, you can have the re-assurance that you know exactly who will work with you on your Wedding Day. It is very important that special moments are not missed. By having two photographers, you get double the coverage, and two unique perspectives. We are focused on your own individual needs and we do not overbook, only booking one wedding, per day.
Q: Will you visit our wedding site prior to the wedding day? A: Yes! Schedule permitting - we research all locations prior to the wedding. We go to the ceremony and reception sites to study the lighting, the backgrounds, and overall environment to properly ensure familiarity and end result quality in our work.
Q: What is your style of photography? A: We shoot weddings with a candid and photojournalistic approach, capturing your wedding or event as it happens.
